Plot

In 1987, the diplomat Min-jun had been posted to the Middle East for five years without making any headway toward coming home. One day, he receives a coded communication from a diplomat who has been missing for 20 months in Lebanon. Min-jun volunteers for an unauthorized expedition to rescue his colleague and travels there, hoping that a success in this mission will lead to a promotion to the United States. However, when he arrives at the airport, he narrowly avoids being taken away by airport security who are interested in the ransom such an important profile might earn them. By happenstance, he ends up fleeing the scene in the cab of a Korean driver named Pan-su. In such dangerous circumstances, he has no choice but to rely on the only other Korean around.
