Plot
In this South Korean drama by Lee Won-tae, the director of the highly acclaimed THE GANGSTER, THE COP, THE DEVIL, a local ambitious assembly member candidate, Jeon Hae-woong (Cho Jin-woong) is removed from the running by a local big-wig, Sun-tae (Lee Sung-min). As his ambitions are crushed, Jeon Hae-woong is threatened by loan sharks, due to defaulting on a campaign loan, and his insistent wife continues to pressure him into another career path. Stressed and overwhelmed, Jeon Hae-woong is still determined to prove his worth through a vengeful power grab.
Hae-woong decides to get his hands dirty, promising a large sum in real estate profits to a local gang leader, Pil-do (Kim Moo-yul), by providing him with classified government information. But when Jeon decides to leak important documents to the press, his unfortunate stint in politics only grows more worrisome and corrupt. THE DEVIL’S DEAL is a crime thriller that examines the fall of a beloved father and aspiring politician, taken down by his desire for power.
