Plot
Manchuria, AD 1619.
Fierce battles take place between Korea and China in the middle of frosted woods. The Chinese troops incessantly swarm in, followed by one after another. Three Korean soldiers, who managed to survive the battles, encounter one another in the northern forest, covered in heavy snow. Heon-myung, an ambitious noble who couldn't overcome his trauma after his family was ruined, volunteers to join the army, hoping that the war could change his life forever. On the contrary, the war leaves him on a deathbed, accompanied by his best friend Do-young, to whom he admits to his complicity in the murder of Do-young's father, before losing consciousness. Do-young, with his unconscious best friend who admittedly betrayed him, takes a refuge in an abandoned tavern only to meet Du-su-- another hiding Korean soldier. Du-su is a street-smart merchant who was forced out to the battlefield for his bureaucratic corruption. Heonmyung tries to induce Du-su to join him in killing Do-young, who now knows Heon-myungs secret. Meanwhile, Do-young, who lost everything he'd had after being claimed as a traitor, is desperate to survive and avenge the murder of his father. The showdown begins between three men: one goes blind, another hurts his leg, and it continues without a particular winner. In the mean time, the Korean solders get closer to the tavern. (KOFIC)
