Plot
Two women meet at the local police station in Kangwha, a place bearing the brand of the patriarchal and authoritarian police state: KOH Yu-jin, a female chief officer who is underestimated by male officers because of her sex, and OH Myung-sook, who killed her own mother and was arrested while wandering around seashore. They are connected through their conversation, sharing wounded hearts, but OH’s silence and murmuring, which painfully express why she had to kill her mother, are ultimately illegible to the bureaucratic, result-oriented masculine system.
