Plot

Everybody's eyes are drawn to a pair of bright red shoes sitting on the platform of a crowded subway station late one night. A high school girl sitting on a bench is especially attracted, watching the shoes glow temptingly in the light of the station. The girl walks over to the shoes, curiously trying them on for size by holding her foot over them, sighing with anticipation as she starts to take off her own shoes to try the red ones on for real. But another high school girl approaches, taking away the red shoes and silently disappearing in the dark. Click, click, click, as the girl walks off into the dark underground station, as if she were dancing lightly. The girl suddenly hears another sound, but no one is there. She starts running in fear, suddenly feeling severe pain in her knees. Looking down at her legs, she sees that her feet are gone: they've been severed at the ankles, and the girl bleeds to death, another victim of the charms of the red shoes. Later, Seon-jae finds the shoes in a passageway of the subway station, left there as if they didn't belong to anybody. She picks up the alluring shoes and brings them home. Seon-jae looks at herself in the mirror, enchanted by her new look. Her daughter, Tae-su (Park Yeon-ah), is also entranced by the new red shoes. Moments later, mother and daughter are screaming and pulling each other's hair out in a brutal fight to gain possession of the red shoes.
