Plot
A ship floats on the endless sea like a desert island, seeming to be completely isolated from the world. On that ship lives a 60-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl. The old man, very grumpy and refusing to change any of his ways, uses the big ship as his floating home. He spends his days taking fishermen from the shore back out to sea using a small dinghy attached to the ship. He provides for himself by offering prime fishing spots to fisherman, and a place to fish from, on a shabby sofa on the ship's deck. And sometimes, he will tell fortunes through the use of arrows. Ten years ago, the old man found a crying girl who was lost in a harbor. He took her with him to his ship and then fell in love with her. Since that day, he has wished for her to reach her 17th birthday so that he might marry her. The old man shoots arrows towards the sea as if he were an expert archer: an expression of his devotion to defend the girl's innocence from the evils of the outside world. But as the girl grows up, she starts to catch the attention of fishermen who come to the ship, and who begin to flirt with her. The old man desperately strives to preserve the girl's innocence from onlookers. One day, a university student comes on board the ship, and the girl becomes interested in him. Through the student, she gets to hear about life in the big city, and begins to dream about it. The girl starts to fall in love with the student, and tries to leave the ship with him.
