Plot
There are three in my family. Dad, and my 10-year-old brother Jeong-hwan. Mother died when Jeong-hwan was four. From the start, I didn’t want to be my father’s daughter or to be born to this family. While I was in prison, it felt good to be free from my family. But when I think of Jeong-hwan who is probably dying to see me, I’m happy too. I know I have to go back, but what bothers me most is when I think of Dad.Jeong-eun has come back after 3 years. I didn’t smile at her, let alone greet her. All I could say was “what are you doing here.” I was worried that she might not come, and it’s good to see she is healthy. But a few days later a rascal who says his name is Chang-won came to my house threatening me to pay back the money Jeong-eun had borrowed from him. I believed her when she said she was going to start a new life.Dad hasn’t changed at all. He never wants to hear from me. I think Chang-won must have dropped by. Dad says he is afraid I might hurt Jeong-hwan. But shouldn’t he at least give me another chance? He says he isn’t interested in what I do. It’s not right to think you can control the life of your kids. I wouldn’t have ended up like this if it weren’t for Dad.I hurt Jeong-eun again by saying something I shouldn’t have. I wish she wouldn’t hang around those good-for-nothing bums. Why can’t she see how I feel? Will I be able to protect her and Jeong-hwan from them? I’m ashamed of myself, that I can’t do anything. I’m sorry Jeong-eun.Dad kneeled in front of Chang-won
