Cheol-min’s nickname is Mutt, which is also the name of his dog. His mother died while giving birth to him, and he lives with his father. As Cheol-min himself puts it, he spends his days “without thinking much.” He takes care of household chores, laughs watching comedy shows on TV, quarrels with his father over fried eggs. His father who is a police detective scolds him for not having any dreams or hopes, but this doesn’t bother him. He just sits there with a blank expression, and his laziness doesn’t change. But he isn’t a loner. One day members of the so called MJK(Milyang Junior Klub) gather around him. They soon become close friends all being in similar situations. They are regarded as “failures” but they don’t care. After all, living without thinking much is one way of living too. One day, his father brings a girl Jeong-ae with him. He only tells them to get along like brother and sister. He isn’t happy about Jeong-ae staying in the house. Jeong-ae doesn’t like Cheol-min either, nor the “straight” life that she is supposed to lead. Her dream is to open her own caf? in Seoul some day. She plans to make Cheol-min, who is good with the fist, her bodyguard. Time passes and the three are now somewhat accustomed to living in the same house when Dae-deok, one of Cheol-min’s friends gets beaten up badly.
