Plot

Lets promote our island and also get into the university! Three hot-blooded youngsters run for these targets. Ma-i-do is an island that is not depicted on the map. The March 1st is the 99th birthday of the island's eldest man, who is an offspring of the man who fought against Japanese during their colonization in Korea. The villagers who asked his wish get silent for a while. "Deep in my heart, I have a wish that one of our youngsters enters the university and lets people know about our island." The villagers are absorbed in thoughts. There are only 3 youngsters -- Dae-seong, Man-gu, Hae-sam -- that have possibility of getting into the university. However, these youngsters are neither intellectual to meet the academic requirements of universities, nor privileged to become superb athletes enough to be admitted as a member of college sports team. Thinking over and over again, villagers finally come up with an idea: Train them to make boxers. They unsophisticatedly believe that boxing consists of such a simple technique of punching and being punched. After searching for a proper coach, they find Wang, the owner of a videogame room who has a record of 2 wins and 5 losses on 7 professional matches. Training begins. Dae-sung practices hard to be loved by a college girl he likes; Man-gu to sing in the college popular song festival and become a top popular singer; and Hae-sam to succeed and make lots of money.
