Plot

Director Lee Jung-Kook made his first film. The Song of Resurrection, which includes the Kwangju Riot against the government in 1980 As the subject was so sensitive politically, noboody wanted to film it, but Director Lee had the courage to do so. In this film, Lee tries to depict the lives of Korean women who lived form 1953, when the Korean Conflict had just ended, until the 1970s Their lives were so difficult that it is worthwhile to review them by film. One woman lived miserably because she could not produce a boy who would continue the family line according to Confucian tradition Another woman lived miserably because the war took her husband's life, and she had to support her younger brother, and she lived together with a married man to produce a boy to continue the married man's family line But Korean women were strong and tough, and they proudly produced the Koreans of today. The problems and struggles of one man who lives with two wives under the same roof are realistically depicted in this film.
