Plot

Ok-suk, the only daughter of a wealthy household, marries Hyun-su. The newlyweds move into Hyun-su's parents' house and Ok-suk begins her married life under the watchful eyes of her in-laws. Hyun-su's family is a normal middle-class family in Seoul. His father is a junior high school deputy principal and his mother a headstrong Korean woman. His grandfather is a kind and well-received man. Growing up only receiving affection from her parents, Ok-suk is clumsy and immature with housework. Ok-suk makes the grown-ups in Hyun-su's family frown. After a spat with her husband, Ok-suk goes to her parents. Ok-suk's mother embraces her but her father grasps the situation. He chastises her instead and sends her back to her husband. Ok-suk wanders the streets. By chance, Ok-suk runs into a woman from Jin-ju. She teaches Ok-suk what a woman's path is and what a wife's path is. Ok-suk returns to her husband's home and learns the value of family.
