Plot

Fifth grader Lee Chang-min moves to Seoul from Andong. In Seoul, Chang-min becomes friends with the alley captain, Yong-nam, who is about to immigrate to America; Young-chul, whose personality is a bit twisted after becoming crippled; and Eok-sun, a chatterbox. Chang-min knows how to comfort and encourage his friends so all the neighborhood kids grow to like him while Yong-nam becomes left out. While nurturing their dreams, the neighborhood kids clean the alley, gather recyclable newspapers, and play soccer and Taekwondo. Then the day Yong-nam is to go to America grows near. As a farewell gesture, the neighborhood holds a soccer game. The whole neighborhood gathers together and pledges to work for an even brighter tomorrow.
