Plot

In Wonsan in the year 1950, First Lieutenant Kang Hi-gu and his company retreat after the Chinese soldiers join the battle. As Hi-gu and his soldiers get surrounded, his friend, First Lieutenant Han Baek-gu leads his unit to help them. They breakthrough the enemy lines and then discover a shed. They slaughter the enemy soldiers hiding in the shed and rescue Jin Su-hyang who the enemy was about to violate. Hi-gu is drawn to Su-hyang but he receives a special order to go to Hamheung. On his way, the transport plane he is on gets attacked by the enemy and is shot down. Hi-gu becomes their prisoner. However, Baek-gu thinks that Hi-gu is dead so he gets engaged to Su-hyang. Finally, the order comes to attack Dosol Mountain. In order to capture the whole mountain, Baek-gu attacks but dies in the battle. Subsequently, Su-hyang enters a convent despite Hi-gu's attempts to change her mind. Hi-gu leaves alone.
