Plot

In a traditional Korean shaman village, during the yearly sacrificial rites, a woman named Han-ne is saved from killing herself in the temple of the nymph by a servant named Man-young. Man-myoung looks affectionately after her but the villagers want to kick her out because she may bring bad luck. During the rites, Yun Pil-ju, the master of the sacrificial rites rapes Han-ne while wearing the ritual mask. In the past, Man-myoung's mother was prey to Pil-ju's carnal desires. Han-ne jumps from the temple and kills herself. Man-myoung discovers that he is Pil-ju's son and follows her to her death.
