Plot
Chun-hyang, a daughter of a renowned gisaeng in Namwon, engages Lee, the son of an aristocrat. But Lee relocates himself to Hanyang (preent Seoul) to work for his father. Meanwhile a new governor assigned to Namwon, Byeon, tempts Chunhyang to be his mistress. When she resists, Byeon puts her into a jail. But Lee, who is assigned to Namwon after passing a government exam in Hanyang, releases his fiancee from the prison, punishing the corrupt governor.
