Plot

Sin-jae, a daughter of a wealthy man Choe, loves a poor young man Seon-gyeong, but since their financial gap is so big, he does not accept her love. When the Korean War breaks out, Seon-gyeong enters military service. While retreating, he temporarily visits his hometown and rescues Sin-hae when she is about to be killed by a high official's daughter, Sang-hee. Sin-Jae becomes a nursing officer and meets Seon-gyeong, who has been hospitalized with his amputated leg. She takes care of him and heals his psychological wound. They return to their hometown and do their best to rebuild the village and enlighten the villagers.
