A married couple lives happily together. One day, the husband leaves for Seoul to take his national exam and the wife waits for her husband to come back hoping that he passes the exam. Unfortunately, the wife stabs herself in the heart, unable to put up with the abuse and exploitation from her parents-in-law any longer. No one is able to remove the knife from her heart. Her husband places first in the national exams and comes back home. Upon seeing his wife's cold body, he wails out in agony. He pulls out the knife stuck in her heart and a bluebird flies above his head. The husband considers the bluebird as a reincarnation of his wife's soul and spends the rest of his wife with it.
