Plot

Jeong Gi-tak, the son of a well-to-do family, has had a fianc?e decided by his parents for a long time, but he is in love with Shin Il-seon, a geisha. Gi-tak's parents go to Shin Il-seon and try to buy her off with money telling her that he already has a fianc?e and therefore cannot marry Il-seon. Il-seon swallows her tears, promises to break up with Gi-tak, and kills herself afterwards. Gi-tak finds out about this later and runs over but her body has already turned cold. He buries her in a sunny spot and places a crown of flowers on her grave, crying in deep sorrow.
