Plot
During the Korean War, in November 1950, a P-47D American fighter is stranded in a remote mountain village, Dongmakgol, surrounded by the cliffs of the Hambaek and Taebak mountain ranges. In the fighter is a soldier from the Allied forces, Smith (Steve Tashular). A village resident, Yeo-il (Kang Hea-jung) sees the scene, and on her way home she encounters North Korean soldiers, Lee Su-wha (Jung Jae-young) and others, and takes them to the village with her. At the same time, two South Korean soldiers, Pyo Hyun-chul (Shin Ha-geun) and Mun Sang-sang, separated from their regiment, come to the village, as well. So soldiers from the North, South, and the Allied Forces all meet in Dongmakgol, and tensions flare to a near breaking point even as the innocent villagers haven't the foggiest idea that there is a war underway. Eventually, even Dongmakgol is threatened by the war; the National Army of the South decides to bomb the village, as they believe it is an enemy encampment that downed the fighter jet. When everyone hears this news, the three groups of soldiers cooperate to try to save Dongmakgol.
